Who IS TAYLORS WORLD?

Taylor's World is more than a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. We are a community, a safe space, a reservoir of resources, and so much more. Because of faith and Taylor's story, we keep pushing and we want to show others that even in the worst of times and unexpected circumstances, God is still good and His plans for you have not changed!

MISSION STATEMENT

Taylor’s World serves to inspire, educate, and create a nurturing space that encourages healing and positive counsel for youth and families in underserved communities across the State of Tennessee.

VISION STATEMENT

We see a world where underserved youth and young adults thrive academically and mentally while engaging in life skills that promote holistic development.

OUR AREAS OF FOCUS

Prevention and preparation go hand in hand. This program teaches elementary students how to not only prevent fires, but to be prepared if they happen. We will do this through fire prevention education as well as demonstration. We will also be able to provide resources to those who have experienced loss due to fires.

Having a healthy mind is just

as important as a healthy body. We have created a safe space, Talk It Out Thursday, where young adults can come and share their hearts in a judgement free zone. This virtual safe space gives you the chance to build community not only for growth but also accountability. You are not alone in this journey.

By the time children are in 3rd grade, their ability to read and write is directly linked to the prison pipeline. Having the capability to expose children Pre-K to 3 rd grade to books is our plan against this statistic.  With Taylor’s Nook, we hope to be able to put books in the hand of every child who has a desire to read.

MENTORSHIP

As we progress it is our responsibility to pave the way for those who will come behind us.This program will allow us to help middle and high school aged youth to prepare for life ahead. We will highlight subjects that you don’t see in your everyday curriculum, such as proper social media presence, financial literacy, alternate career paths, interview etiquette and more.

Where it all started....

When Taylor died, I had no idea what to do. I was alone, lost, and my faith was dwindling. I tried to pray, I cried, and I questioned God because ultimately, I couldn’t understand what I did to deserve a lifetime of pain. In those moments of questioning God, He merely told me to trust the process and make Him look good. I had NOOOO idea what that meant, but I was willing to try to trust Him and take him at his word. In this moment, I was trusting, but mainly in blind faith.

A random conversation with a total stranger gave me clarity & insight. After explaining to this stranger what my #TAYLORSWORLD shirt meant he wanted to know how I was still able to smile and live through such pain. I explained that I trusted God through the process and my faith was the only thing I had left. That stranger told me he wanted to know the God I serve because He must be amazing if I can still trust Him after something so awful.

I finally understood that #TAYLORSWORLD was more than a simple hashtag created when Taylor was two years old to highlight the sassy and adventurous things that she would do. It's about helping people believe there's good on the other side of difficult moments. Ultimately knowing we don't have to become hostage to our situations because there is life beyond the struggle and beauty beyond the hurt.
